tbh I don’t see the fuss about having waiters/waitresses not being happy and enthusiastic like I came here to eat I didn’t come here to be amused by employees as long as I’m getting my food and they’re not being blatantly rude I don’t see why y’all need to go on yelp to rank a restaurant 0/5 and have an outburst on why your waitress didn’t smile at you when she poured you water

this is pretty freaking important

  • The US Government: We're not going to make it federally mandatory for people to get paid a wage they can actually live off of
  • The US Government: If people want to make a living, they'll just have to work 16+ hours a day
  • The US Government: And if their kids end up disenfranchised because of a lack of parental involvement, well that's not our problem
  • The US Government: In fact, what is our problem is creating a system that will funnel these disenfranchised youth into our prison system so they can work for corporations (that promise us money) for damn near free
  • The US Government: If they don't want to fall victim to this system, then they can seek higher education
  • The US Government: Except such an education will be inaccessible to most disenfranchised people and skewed in favor of the financially stable and white people
  • The US Government: And we're not going to make intervention programs like sex education and conflict resolution federally mandatory, because that's the parent's job
  • The US Government: The parent who is working 16 hours a day

A good dream

I had a dream last night where the government was run by a Cryptocurrency.  Every year, all citizens were given an equal portion of the available cryptocurrency at its lowest division.  It equaled something like 25,000 dollars worth of cryptocurrency.  By the end of the year, they had to allocate all of it to community funds, like Education, Road Infrastructure, Military.

We didn’t have income taxes or property taxes, just sales taxes.  The Sales taxes were collected throughout the year, and at the end it would be spent on projects depending on people’s crypto-voting during the year.  If half the people of the community spent half their crypto-votes on education, 1/4 of all the tax money would be spent on Education for that year.  We had a few elected officials, who would negotiate the actual spending of the money, but most of our ‘politicians’ were people who lived and worked in the community, but campaigned as activists to convince people to contribute crypto-votes to certain funds.

Most of the power was held at the city/county level.

I was having some adventure with elephants that I don’t remember in the dream but I do remember the governmental infrastructure.

#THEY DON’T WRITE EM LIKE THIS ANYMORE

[echoes of eleven blowing up cybermen to get information in the distance]

People who don’t love Nine are the dumbest.

People think that Nine is dark sullen and a killer. They’re wrong. Nine not dark. He’s light and happy and in love. He wear a leather jacket and is the closest Doctor the the Time War but he is not dark. He is a light person who is fighting his dark past. He knows what he’s done and is fighting to write his wrongs. He just wants everyone to live.

Eleven on the other hand is the exact opposite. People think he’s a puppy in a fez. They’re wrong. He is not happy and joyful. He’s careless. He is having adventures while ruining lives and killing people. He is the man who forgets. He has forgotten the pain he felt after what he did and now is so comfortable killing.

He doesn’t remember Nine. Nine, the Doctor with depression. Nine, the Doctor who fell in love with an nineteen year old shop girl who didn’t need a magic back story to be special. Nine, the Doctor who went and saved his friends without killing. Nine, the Doctor who chose to lose instead of causing loss.

Nine chooses to give up being a god. Eleven pretends he is a god. Nine would make a merciful god. Eleven acts like a vengeful god. Nine is a puppy in a leather jacket. Eleven is a a killer in a fez.

And the saddest thing is, it’s not even Eleven’s fault - poor Matt Smith tried everything, everything, he could to portray Moffat’s psychopathic God killer as a puppy in a fez but with the weight of the galaxy on his shoulders. But bad writing is bad writing.

I once would have said Eleven was my favourite Doctor. But that just isn’t true anymore, and it breaks my heart. And it isn’t Ten either, who was selfish and cocky and didn’t treat his companions well. Eleven is my first Doctor, and Ten is fun to watch on occasion… but Nine? Nine is my favourite Doctor. Nine is the Doctor who carries the weight of the war on his shoulders, and Christopher Eccleston is a magnificent man.

Don’t skip Nine. He is one of the most underrated, and best, Doctors of all time.

Nine is Best Dr.
